About Thinkingcap
Bimal Shah and David Romano-Critchley left the investment bank
D. E. Shaw & Co to found Thinkingcap Technology Limited (TTL).
Their vision was to create a platform able to cut through the complexity
of enterprise software by executing business models as software
systems. This platform is called Thinkingcap.
By 2000, the Company had proved the concept on a client project
and Rod Dowler, formerly head of the European High Technology practice
of KPMG joined the team as CEO. In quick succession the Company
raised seed capital and then further funding from AP Technology
Partners LLP (Apollo) of New York to build a robust product. During
the funding process one knowledgeable investment banker described
Thinkingcap as the 'Holy Grail of computing'.
Thinkingcap Technology work closely with Intelligroup, a Nasdaq-quoted
IT services company with extensive development resources. Intelligroup
worked on the development of Thinkingcap and on subsequent client
engagements.
Thinkingcap was completed and launched in September 2001. From
2002 to 2004 Thinkingcap has been used on a variety of client projects.
These have validated design objectives of speed, flexibility, high
quality and low cost of ownership.
