Thinkingcap Press Release
Thinkingcap launches its service cluster architecture
2 August 2004
Effective 2 August 2004, Thinkingcap has launched its service cluster
architecture for client enterprise applications. This allows many
Thinkingcap application servers on different machines to work together
to share workload.
Dr Dave Romano-Critchley, CTO of Thinkingcap said "The service
cluster architecture is both scalable and simple. These characteristics
make the service cluster architecture a better choice than the more
complex message oriented architectures for workload distribution
and management across a network of machines."
The service cluster architecture is based on Thinkingcap's model
oriented approach to enterprise application development. The central
principle is that the 'work request' and 'work in progress' queues
are modelled as ordinary Thinkingcap concepts. The service cluster
architecture enables access to concepts to be globally synchronized
using ordinary RDBMS locking.
The service cluster architecture is an integral part of the standard
Thinkingcap application server. It underscores Thinkingcap's commitment
to delivering enterprise-scalable solutions to support change and
inniovation.
